A Hero of Our Time
Mikhail Lermontov
My first book of 2022! I would like to apologize to
the UBIC board of 2020 for taking so long to get to
it, but I did it! It was a interesting book, but I
struggled to find the meaning. It seemed like
Lermontov was just disgusted with society's decadence
and inane traditions, but the protagonist he chose was
an odd choice. I didn't find him particularly likable
or compelling. Much like the Sun Also Rises, this book
made me want to travel to the Caucuses which was p
cool. Overall, interesting? I might come back to it,
but Pechorin is so unlikable I would need a compelling
reason to do so.
