The Dispossessed
Ursula K. Le Guin
I enjoyed it. The non-chronological order did cause
some confusion in the beginning, so I think it would
be best served by a reread. It presents a variety of
really interesting ideas and conversations around
feminisim and Utopia. I will say that it was hard to
pull out a single lesson or idea as being particularly
powerful. There are so many different analyses that I
was getting a bit lost in all of them. I would like to
reread it at some point soon. But overall nice!
Shevek's analysis of Urras (and its corrolary to
Earth) was eye-opening. Le Guin does a very good job
of embodying a character and viewing Earth through his
eyes.
