URSULA STRIKES AGAIN. This is a short story so not a full novel, but I do think it deserves its own entry. Fantastic concept and very well done, I walked into it blind to the concept based on a recommendation from a friend. If this is you, I *highly* recommend doing the same thing. This has one of my largest recommendation stamps.
