Jordan Peele
Really enjoyed this one! The number of CLOUDS in this 
film was INsane. Loved the subversion of expectations 
on the nature of the UFO and really enjoyed how Peele 
contrasts the UFO with Gordy the chimp. I watched the 
film as a refutation of humanity's increasing desire 
to document and create spectacles out of everything. 
Gordy snapping and the UFO's violence both seem to be 
born out of hostility to being turned into nothing 
more than cheap amusement. I think Peele is thinking 
about this violence within the context of humanity 
slowly fraying because of our relationship with social 
media and technology. I also think he contrasts 
Gordy's violence with the UFO's; in that, Gordy is 
ultimately easily stopped because of less access to 
technology and higher strategy. The UFO is distinct 
from this, and is able to commit extreme violence with 
impunity because of its technological prowess. As 
humanity gets more sophisticated, I think Peele is 
commenting on the increasing danger we will find 
ourselves in. Or maybe none of this is right and it's 
literally just Black Cowboys v. Aliens. Oooo and also 
the origin of the movie coming back to the black 
jockey riding his horse is actually insane. Very cool 
idea and really well incorporated. Fantastic film. Big 
fan.
