Such a long, chaotic, and insane season of television.
I think it's most interesting as a window into the
world of Chinese television. I was surprised at the
very aggressive themes of governmental incompotence. I
would have thought that such storylines would have
been censored? Set pieces are crazy, costumes are
crazy, and the score is fan-tastic. CGI was awful, the
plot recycled itself every 4 episodes, and the number
of JUMPS felt excessive. I thought it was interesting,
but it overstayed its welcome quite a bit. Was not
expecting the ending, but pleasantly surprised at the
amount of female empowerment showcased!
